Where to Watch Zorro the Gay Blade

Where to Watch zorro the gay blade

In 1840s Mexico, wealthy landowner Don Diego Vega decides to follow in his father's footsteps and become Zorro, a masked swordsman who fights for justice. However, when he sprains his foot, he can't continue his work and is forced to find an alternative. This is where his flamboyantly fashion-conscious twin brother Ramon (George Hamilton) comes in. He assumes the role, and soon the masked avenger is back in action.

A slapstick comedy with quick wit and a twist on the classic tale, this queer film is a must-see for Zorro fans and Hamilton lovers alike. The cast is excellent, and the actors capture the essence of their characters perfectly. The story is fast-paced and witty, with plenty of sword fighting and cross dressing to keep the audience entertained.

George Hamilton is particularly good as Diego/Zorro, and he makes the character his own with charm and panache. He's complemented by Brenda Vaccaro as Florinda and Rob Liebman as the alcalde. Tyrone Power also delivers a solid performance as the villainous Esteban. The only thing missing from this flick is a bit of depth, but it's still a fun film to watch. The only reason I gave this film a four rather than five stars is because some of the jokes are just a little too tasteless. If you can overlook that, though, then zorro the gay blade is a swashbuckling delight. This movie will make you laugh out loud and leave you wanting more!
