The New Orleans Gay Pride celebration takes place every June, with the big parade weekend typically falling during the first full week of the month. Throughout the month, you can find LGBTQIA+ events at all kinds of bars and restaurants across the city. Check the official calendar for a full list of events.
The Pride Parade is held on Saturday, June 10. The parade begins at Elysian Fields and heads down Decatur, turns right onto Canal and then up to Rampart before ending on Bourbon Street between St Ann and Dumaine. The parade is accompanied by small bands and loads of colorful floats that create a true Mardi Gras vibe.
New Orleans has a thriving gay community that is always looking for ways to support one another. Some of these events include the annual Pride Parade, Southern Decadence and more. Pride Month is also a great time to visit some of the city's best queer-friendly bars and dance clubs like Good Friends Bar, Oz New Orleans and Rawhide 2010.
If you're interested in volunteering during New Orleans Pride 2023, there are several opportunities available for both individuals and groups. For example, New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity is hosting a first-ever Pride Build, which will bring together local LGBTQIA+ people and their allies to help a family in need of a home. Learn more about the event on the organization's website.
