Kristen Stewart has fought like hell to keep her sexuality under wraps, but she finally decided it was time to go public with it. The actress referred to herself as “like, so gay” while hosting Saturday Night Live, and she is clearly proud of her decision. It is a huge step forward for LGBTQ visibility.
In the years following Twilight, Stewart starred in several independent films, including Camp X-Ray, Still Alice, and Equals. She also received critical acclaim for her performance in Olivier Assayas’ drama film Clouds of Sils Maria, earning the Cesar Award for Best Supporting Actress. Later on, she reteamed with director John Waters in the horror movie Spy Kids Go to the Mall. She has also portrayed Joan Jett in two films, and most recently appeared as a love interest in Woody Allen’s Cafe Society.
The actress has dated both men and women in the past, but her most high profile relationship was with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson, whom she dated for seven years. She reportedly broke up with Rob in 2013 because she wanted to focus more on her acting career, and after their split, she went on to date model Stella Maxwell and visual effects producer Alicia Cargile. Currently, she is engaged to Dylan Meyer, who she first met on set in 2017. The couple has been together for nearly three years. Kristen is focusing on her acting projects again, including the upcoming biopic Lizzie and the action flick Charlie’s Angels.
