A husband took his sore loser status to a whole new level at a beauty pageant when he rushed the stage and smashed the winner's crown in the middle of an award ceremony. The incident happened at the Miss Gay Mato Grosso 2023 pageant, a LGBTQIAP+ beauty contest held in Brazil. The crown was being placed over the head of the winner when the man rushed onstage and snatched it from her hands. He then slammed it on the ground in front of everyone.
The final round of the competition came down to runner-up Nathally Becker from Cuiaba and winner Emannuelly Belini from Varzea Grande. The two women stood on stage hand-in-hand, ready to find out who would be crowned the winner of the beauty pageant for the state of Mato Grosso in central Brazil. As the announcer prepared to place the crown over Belini's head, Becker's husband ran onstage and snatched the decorative headwear from her hand. He then smashed it on the floor in front of the stunned audience members and was eventually escorted off the stage by security.
Organizers of the event issued a statement on Instagram congratulating Belini and condemning Becker's husband for his behavior. They say he will face legal action in connection with the incident. Hopefully, he will learn a lesson about his temper and keep his hands off of people's crowns in the future. If he's not careful, he might end up losing his own crown next time.
