For the past few years, Harry Styles has been a regular topic of discussion surrounding his sexuality. The “Watermelon Sugar” singer has never explicitly said if he’s gay or not, but his personal life and relationships have definitely caught the attention of the public.
While the question of whether or not he’s LGBTQ+ is still up for debate, Styles does say he’s on a “journey” when it comes to his sexuality. And while some people might feel like he’s queerbaiting when he declines to label himself, others argue that it’s okay that he doesn’t want to disclose his sexuality.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Styles dipped his toe into the discussions of his sexuality and criticized the idea that he’s exploiting the LGBTQ community by refusing to come out as gay. He goes on to explain that he’s not comfortable sharing his sexual orientation with the media and doesn’t believe that the public has the right to demand an answer from him.
He also explains that his decision to remain private about his sexuality is the result of his own experiences with homophobia in the past. He continues, explaining that he’s been made to feel “ashamed of being gay” and that he doesn’t want to make anyone else feel that way too.
