How Tall is Tyson Gay?

Athlete and Track and Field sprint athlete, Tyson Gay is an inspiration to aspiring athletes around the world. He’s fiercely competitive while exuding strength and passion – traits that have helped him become one of the most successful and well-respected runners in history. His will to continuously push himself further towards greater heights is a testament to his unyielding dedication to excellence. This is something that can easily be attributed to his star sign, Leo, which is associated with ambition and drive.

Born on August 9, 1982 in Lexington, Kentucky, Gay comes from a family with an athletic pedigree. His grandmother ran in college at Eastern Kentucky University, and his mother Daisy competed in her youth. His older sister Tiffany was also an accomplished high school runner and he often competed against her growing up. He would later credit her quick reaction time as an inspiration to improve his own speed. Gay attended Lafayette High School and then the University of Arkansas where he studied sociology and marketing.

Gay is known for his dominance in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. He broke a number of national and NCAA records while attending the University of Arkansas, where he met his trainer Lance Brauman. They became fast friends and began to train together at Barton County Community College. He was the first American since Maurice Greene to break 10-second barrier in the 100 meters and he is the second fastest man ever in the event, with only Usain Bolt faster.
